BEFORE & AFTER
-
What can I expect?Prior to all treatments at Lab Clinic A full medical history will be taken and you will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns and expected outcomes. You will need to complete a consent form prior to your treatment and pre treatment photos will be taken. The area of treatments will be cleaned prior the injection. Botox, Dysport or Xeomin are injected into the muscle, using a small disposable syringe with a very fine needle. Most people tolerate the treatment without any local numbing and describe the sensation as pinch or sting only lasting for a few seconds. The procedure itself takes around 10 to 15 minutes. Your skin might be slightly red and raised at the injection site for a couple of minutes after your treatment.
-
How long does the result last? Results from Xeomin can last 3 to 6 months, based on the injection site, actual facial muscle function, skin condition, skin type, and the amount of dosage to be taken. For wrinkle-free skin, it’s important to return for another treatment session. Regular, repeated sessions can slow the progression of wrinkles and prevent the formation of permanent wrinkles. At our Lab clinic, our clinicians usually advise our patients for a review session in case they need touch-ups.
-
What are the side effects of Xeomin?Xeomin treatments are normally tolerable with few reported side effects. Bruising, reddening of the skin, and minor discomfort and swelling at the treated area are all common side effects that are temporary. Headaches are possible, but they are uncommon and normally pass within a day or two. Drooping of the eye brows or eyelids, corner of the mouth or failure to use a straw may occur. But that highly depends on where the injection site is located. Botox patients are normally told not to massage the treated region and not to lie down for three to four hours after the injection. This is to avoid the Xeomin or botulinum toxin from spreading and causing other complications.
